I am not movie critic but I recognize a flop when I see one, and Doom: Annihilation will flop hard. First trailer of the movie just came out; it shows us the main cast, some daemons and a biga… really huge BFG. Oh, and it also shows this being a low budget clip, and a really low budget one at that. I have a hard time considering this movie some sort of homage to the Doom series: it looks more like a cheap way of making some buck, considering the popularity of Doom 2016 and the positive reactions to Doom: Eternal trailers. The decision of putting a woman in the main role will probably spark some controversy, too: the main character in any Doom game released so far was always a male. I guess that a lil’ controversy might boost this probably horrible flick’s sales.
