It will cost you money to keep using Windows 7 after 2020

Windows 7 will reach its official end of life on January 2020; that is when Microsoft will stop support that OS with further updates. Other than lacking features of more modern Windows’, it will also mean that the system will become more and more susceptible to hackers’ attacks due to its security measures getting quickly outgrown. If, for one reason or another, you will still want to keep using this OS after it dies, it will be possible… but you will have to pay up. Microsoft will offer the so-caled Windows 7 Extended Security Updates for a fee of $25 per year, with price rising for every device with Win 7 installed. This price will double next year, being $50 per year, and then double again if, for some reason, you will decide to still use Windows 7 when 2022 starts. We do not know if Extended Security Updates will still be going by 2023. Prices will be double that high for those who use Windows 7 Pro, by the way.

Yeah, it is probably a better idea to just update to Windows 10 already.
