According to the US Securities and Exchange Commission, Tim Cook’s company now owns 4 829 926 000 shares. Each one of them is worth 207.5 dollars. When put together, these numbers give us the company’s value of over one billion dollars.

Wow. Steve Jobs would be proud, as his company is the first one in the world to have reached this value. It was not sure if Apple would win this unofficial race – Google, Microsoft and Amazon were on its heels. It is interesting to see that the first company in the world to have reached value of one billion USD is not even a company that produces something neccessary for life. It is not an energy company, or a fuel one, or even a food producer. Nope; as it turns out, the most important things in our lives right now are communication and mobility.
