U.S. ban on mobile devices on planes may be extended to Europe as well

You know how United States government (oh, Donald) have decided to ban tablets and laptops from being taken into plane cabins? For now, the ban applies ”only” to ten Arabic countries from North Africa and Middle East, but if things go south, the prohibition will hit us Europeans as well. According to The Guardian, american administration considers doing just that.

”British officials understand that their US counterparts are looking at extending the ban – which prevents any devices larger than a smartphone being taken as carry-on luggage – to flights from Europe.”

Department of Homeland Security replies by stating that it constantly evaluates national threat levels and have not made any decision on the European ban so far.

What do you guys think, yay or nay? Many are worried that both american tourism and business may take a large hit if the new ban passes. I would certainly much rather keep my costly and delicate electronics with me than dump them in the storage.
