A judge has ordered Google and Motorola to deliver information concerning how the Android operating system was developed to Apple. The two companies must also give Apple information about Google’s planned acquisition of Motorola. The cases relating to this action hail from 2010, when Apple sued Motorola over smartphone patents. Motorola counter-sued. Motorola and Google had hoped to prevent Apple from gaining access to this information. The first case, addressing Apple’s patent claims against Motorola, begins June 11, and will be followed immediately by the Motorola v. Apple case.
