Eastman Kodak today filed new lawsuits against Apple and HTC regarding digital imaging patents. Kodak alleges that Apple’s iPhone, iPad, and iPod, and some of HTC’s smartphones and tablets infringe Kodak patents that relate to technology for transmitting images. Kodak also believes HTC is infringing on a separate patent related to previewing images on digital devices. Kodak filed complaints with the U.S. International Trade Commission as well as in U.S. District Court for the Western District of New York. Kodak hopes the ITC will agree to block the import of the infringing products and that the U.S. court will award it with damages.
