Samsung releases images of Focus S, Focus Flash smartphones

Samsung has finally released images of the upcoming Focus S and Focus Flash Windows Phone 7.5 smartphones that will be headed to AT&T in the near future. If you were hoping to own a Galaxy S II, but wanted Windows Phone 7.5 instead of Android, then it seems like the Focus S will be your best bet, as it looks like a near clone of the Galaxy S II. The Focus Flash is attractive as well, though it obviously has smaller dimensions. As a refresher, the Focus S is powered by a 1.4GHz, single-core processor and features a 4.3-inch, Super AMOLED Plus WVGA (480 x 800 pixel) display. It measures a ...

Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray

The Xperia Arc (we’re going to be making lot of comparisons to the Arc in this review) is 125 x 63mm with a depth of 8.7mm. The Ray slices most of that off and comes in at a remarkable 111 x 53mm. It is slightly fatter, by less than a millimetre, clocking in at 9.4mm deep. It reminds us very much of the original (and, at the time, revolutionary) HTC Touch Diamond from 2008 – a niche handset that only retro phone geeks are likely to recall.Indeed, compared to the larger handsets we’ve become used to using, such as the Samsung Galaxy S2, Apple iPhone 4 and HTC Sensation, ...

iPhone 4S review

he iPhone 4S caught many by surprise, with Apple expected to release the iPhone 5 – but instead we got an iPhone 4 with overhauled innards. While the masses were initially disappointed, the iPhone 4S features a glut of top-end tech that is designed to put it on a par with the likes of the Samsung Galaxy S2 – but does it manage to do that? The changes to the iPhone 4S are easy to document – the camera has been upgraded to 8MP (with an improved aperture ratio), the CPU is now the same dual-core A5 processor as seen in the iPad 2, and a seven time increase in graphical ...

Samsung Galaxy S2

The Samsung Galaxy S II is the phone the Korean firm deems the successor to its best smartphone so far. And with a 1.2GHz processor, super-slim chassis and feather-light innards, it’s easy to see why.The dual-core race is set to heat up massively over the next few months, with the LG Optimus 2X already released, and the Motorola Atrix, HTC Sensation and iPhone 5 or iPhone 4S all set to bring the tech to market too.The Samsung Galaxy S2 is almost impossibly thin when you pick it up – dimensions of 125.3 x 66.1 x 8.5mm mean it’s one of the thinnest smartphones on the market ...

Nokia 800 and other Windows Phone handsets

Both Nokia CEO Stephen Elop and Microsoft chief Steve Ballmer have as good as confirmed that Nokia’s first batch of Windows Phone handsets will be unveiled at Nokia World next week. But that’s not soon enough for the ever-hungry internet, as pictures of two of the line-up have made their way online. The Nokia 800, previously known as the Sea Ray, is basically a rebadged Nokia N9 running Windows Phone 7.5 rather than the doomed MeeGo OS. Leaked renders of the numerical handset show it in black, blue and pink (eurgh) finishes, with the familiar design offering a 3.7-inch ...

HTC power for work and play

In mythology, the Titans were a race of god-like creatures known for their enormous size and incredible power – and the HTC Titan hasn’t fallen far from the mythological tree.A Windows Phone handset that brings titanic power and screensize to a slim, comfortable and beautifully designed package, the HTC Titan will keep even the keenest tweeter, texter, chatterbox, cinephile or workaholic going all day long. With the largest screen of any Windows Phone handset, the HTC Titan gives you 4.7-inches to play with. You won’t have a better experience of browsing the web, watching ...
