Motorola Adding Chrome Support to Next-Gen Webtop

Motorola is working on a next-generation version of its Webtop mobile application that will add support for Google’s Chrome browser. In an interview with The Verge, Motorola CEO Sanjay Jha said, “What we call the next generation of Webtop will have more capabilities,” adding that the switch to Android 4.0 will lead to a smoother user experience. Sony Xperia S smartphone coming to O2 UK

O2 has announced that it will soon offer Sony’s new flagship smartphone, the Xperia S, to its customers. The Xperia S is an Android smartphone that offers a massive 4.3-inch color HD touchscreen display and a 1.5GHz dual-core processor. Other features include a 12MP rear facing camera for video and pictures as well as a 1.3MP user facing camera for video chats. The Xperia S also offers a micro-HDMI port and NFC capabilities. Kodak Fires More Patent Lawsuits at Apple and HTC

Eastman Kodak today filed new lawsuits against Apple and HTC regarding digital imaging patents. Kodak alleges that Apple’s iPhone, iPad, and iPod, and some of HTC’s smartphones and tablets infringe Kodak patents that relate to technology for transmitting images. Kodak also believes HTC is infringing on a separate patent related to previewing images on digital devices. Kodak filed complaints with the U.S. International Trade Commission as well as in U.S. District Court for the Western District of New York. Nokia Looking to Offer Each Network Its Own WP7 Flagship

Nokia want to sell an exclusive Windows Phone device with each of the major U.S. network operators, said Nokia’s U.S. chief Chris Weber in an interview with Fierce Wireless. “The most important thing we can do in the U.S. market is bring exclusive devices and opportunities to each of the carriers. Doing that exclusivity and giving them something unique allows us to get great carrier support. Motorola CEO Sanjay Jha today indicated that the company hopes to make fewer phones during 2012 in order to conserve marketing resources.
