Blizzard is making a mobile Warcraft game

O tempora o mores… Only days after a PR fiasco that was the announcement of Diablo: Immortal, Blizzard is pushing its luck again. This time it was Kotaku who told the world that the gaming giant is working on a mobile Warcraft game. According to Kotaku, it is supposed to be an augmented reality game similiar in style to Pokemon: Go. Pokemon: Go is supposedly very popular among the Warcraft developers team, with the new Warcraft mobile team’s leader, one Cory Stockton, reportedly being a huge Pokemon fan in general. Those who managed to play the game’s early version say ...

App Store removed Tumblr from its offer because of child pornography

Apple has recently removed Tumblr from its app store. The reason? Tumblr’s failure to filter child pornography. Tumblr released a statement in which the company admitted that its security scans repeatedly failed to filter out images of child pornography, failure which caused App Store to temporarily remove the app from its offer. The ban is to be revoked once Tumblr’s security measures will be sufficiently updated. Tweet Vote on HN ...

SMS might be replaced by RCS

American cellphone network Verizon is working on starting a new communication standard, one that will replace both SMS as well as Messenger and other similiar communicators. The new standard is called RCS, which stands for Rich Communication Suite. RCS will allow to send multimedia files and text that weights even 100 megabytes – much more than the currently available 200 kilobytes of an MMS, whether these files be audio or video. It will have all the usual Messenger amenities such as location recognition and text delivery confirmation. The only bad side of RCS is that it requires a ...

Google Maps will get its own messenger?

Lately Google tries hard to make us keep using its Maps. They recently added the accident and speed camera report systems; today the gossip of a new function spreaded into the Internet. According to it, Google Maps will be receiving its own messenger soon. Interestingly, this messenger will not allow us to talk to friends and acquaintances, instead being limited to chatting with firms. Weird… The way it works is shown in this short video.I do not know whether or not such a function is really useful to Google Maps users. What I do know is that it will cause the app to be even more ...

He tried to get his copy of Fallout 76 refunded. The store did not take it, so he demolished it

One rather cranky Fallout fan tried to get a refund for his copy of Fallout 76. GameStop store did not agree to the man’s proposal, per its return policy. The owner of the game did not take that lying down and, instead of agreeing to the facts, threw a tantrum and demolished the story on his way out. Well… When good video games come out, people try their hardest to buy a copy; when bad ones come out, they try their best to return them. This clip is probably a pretty good Fallout 76 ...

YouTube will now allow us to watch movies for free, wait, I meant for ads

Harry Potter: Wizards Unite, or Pokemon Go in the realm of wizards

The game is being made by Niantic, the same guys who brought us Pokemon Go. It was supposed to be released this year, but there has been a delay; its new release date is ”sometime in 2019”. Right now there is next to nothing know about the game: all we have to go on is its teaser, which depicts a wizard catching a golden snitch and then summoning a poster stating that the wizard’s world is in danger of being discovered. Zuckerberg got offended by Apple and now Facebook employees cannot use their phones

Mark Zuckerberg recently urged his employees to stop using their iPhones (if they had one in the first place) and get themselves Android devices instead. The official reason for that is that… Zuckerberg is upset about Apple; Tim Cook says a lot of bad (but not wrong) things about Apple’s privacy policy. According to Apple Insider, Zuckerberg got enough of this and does not want to see the now-hated apple logo anywhere near him. Some people believe that the real reason for Mark Z’s war on Apple is the fact that the fruit company is becoming a market rival for FB. Apple has ...

Apple has officially admitted that its chip blocks unauthorized repairs

The fact that Apple intentionally makes it difficult for us to fix our devices anywhere else than in their shops is nothing new; what is new is that Apple has officially admitted doing so. In an interview with American newssite The Verge, Apple has stated that the T2 chip built into their devices makes it impossible to replace either their motherboard or the Touch ID elements. Attempt to have them replaced in an unauthorized shop will block the device, after which it can only be unlocked at the Apple store. What do you think about this? On the one hand, repairs done by an official Apple ...

Stan Lee is dead, or a sad day

This news has nothing to do with the world of mobile devices, but is worth mentioning nevertheless. Stan Lee, the most popular superhero comic book author in the world, has died yesterday. Born in 1922, the elderly writer lived 95 years. In his career, which begun in the 60’s, he created a multitude of well known and loved Marvel characters, from Spider-Man (with a hyphen!) and Iron Man to Thor, Hulk, Black Panther and many others. Although Mr. Lee has not worked in his profession for some time now, his popularity never ceased thanks to both his great work and his multiple, often ...
