Samsung issues updates to all the Galaxy Note 7 users, prompting them to exchange their phones.

Whenever a person powers up their Galaxy Note 7, or even simply recharges it, a warning message will appear on display, reminding the user that Note 7 is dangerous due to its melting battery and that the phone should be exchanged. This flood of messages, along with the autonomous updates that iPhone is going through now, might be enough to make even the biggest hardheads quit using the flawed phone. Tweet Vote on HN ...

Galaxy Note 7 – haste makes waste.

According to Bloomberg, it is haste with which Samsung wanted to publish its newest model before Apple and its iPhone 7 that caused the issue. Korean company does its very best (or, in this case, worst) to outdo its main rival Apple, which made them issue an insufficiently tested product that so far caused over ninety cases of exploding overheated batteries. Bloomberg says that Samsung wanted to surprise the users with high-capacity batteries, and that they did – Note 7’s battery is 500 mAh (miliamper per hour) larger than its precedessor. CPSC’s (US Consumer Product ...

Samsung Galaxy Note 7 – the fight for sales goes on.

Samsung tries yet another way of dealing with their flawed, battery-burning release of Galaxy Note 7. Phone’s users – only those living in South Korea for the moment – have received an update for their phones that limits their battery capacity to 60%. Right now it’s difficult to say whether it Samsung did it because the company cares about Note 7 user’s safety, or is it an attempt to lure their clients into the shops once more. Whatever the truth is, doing it on a global scale may prove impossible for Samsung. Unlike Apple or Microsoft OS, whose parent ...

Smartwatches? Not interested.

Judging by the small number of sales, smartwatches were never an object of particular interest for the consumers, even though the producers kept on releasing new models. Now, it looks like at least some of the companies have decided to drop out from this particular race; namely, LG, Huawei and Motorola, who will not release any new smartwatches this year. Unless something change, this will leave Samsung and Apple as the only major contesters in the waning field of smartwatches. Tweet Vote on ...

A troubled company – another of Samsung’s cellphones explodes.

A while ago I wrote about problems that the korean company Samsung has with its extremely flawed release of Samsung Galaxy Note 7. Now I return to this topic, since it’s possible that Samsung’s problems are far from over… users of Galaxy Note 7 can, and should, return their phones and, in return, receive either Samsung Galayy J as a temporary replacement or, after paying the difference in cost, Galaxy S7 or S7 Edge. Unfortunately, one Daniel Ramirez, owner of Galaxy S7 Edge, has recently sued Samsung. Why? Remirez’s phone, which he kept in his pocket, exploded, ...

USA says “no” to Samsung Galaxy Note 7.

“It is a serious life hazard“, says the American Consumer Product Safety Commission, and it’s hard to disagree. So far there have been 92 cases of combustion in Samsung’s Galaxy Note 7 smartphones, with 26 people getting hurt in the process. Therefore the CPSC came to a conclusion that Samsung’s device must be removed from the market. Even before the CPSC’s decision, though, Samsung put the Note 7’s sells on a halt, and organized a world-wide service action for every Note 7’s user whose device was destroyed by the combustion or explosion of ...
