Best Buy will be offering the unlocked versions of these phones only three weeks after the carrier versions will launch. We do not mind, but we do notice how different it is from how Samsung treated the S7 model (unlocked S7’s eventually became available, yes, but only after three months). The good news is, unlocked S8’s will be slightly cheaper than their locked versions, costing $725 and $825 respectively. The bad news is, you cannot pre-order them, at least not now, which means that you can’t get those sweet Gear Vr googles and other cool items.
