In a groundbreaking move, Apple is set to introduce the iPad Air in two different sizes, mirroring its approach with the Pro models.
Alongside the traditional 11″ iPad Air, there will also be a brand-new 12.9″ version, featuring dimensions of 280.6 x 214.9 x 6 mm.
The new 11-inch iPad Pro is set to have dimensions of 249.7 x 177.5 x 5.1 mm, contrasting with the current model’s measurements of 247.6 x 178.5 x 5.9 mm.
As for the 12.9″ iPad Pro which will be released this year, it will be marginally longer and wider than the iPad Air of the same screen size, yet thinner—although this seems somewhat ironic given the Air’s emphasis on slimness.
The dimensions of the 12.9-inch iPad Pro are expected to be 281.5 x 215.5 x 5 mm, while the current model stands at 280.6 x 214.9 x 6.4 mm. This represents a significant reduction in thickness from one generation to the next, potentially enhancing the user experience with a device of such substantial size.
The reported reason for this additional thinness is the transition to OLED displays within the Pro lineup.
Even if it is only a rumor the accessory manufacturers are already gearing up for increased production of cases tailored for these new models.
While the new iPad Pros are said to have the M3 chip, it remains uncertain whether the Airs will also adopt the M3 or remain with the M2.
Additionally, there’s uncertainty regarding whether Apple will host an event to unveil these products, as past launches have sometimes been announced solely via press releases.
