Sorry, Inbox, you have had your fun, now is the time to get off the stage. Inbox by Gmail was an experimental email app, a next step above Gmail so to say. It offered a variety of features unavailable in Gmail, like Smart Reply, putting e-mails on hold to be reminded of them later and high-priority notifications. The app has been going on for four years, and found some success, but ever since then Google has considerably built up the main Gmail app, even putting some of Inbox’s features into it. These changes eventually mounted up and made Inbox obsolete, and that is why it is going to die.

Well rest, Inbox. While you are being left behind, you have done your part in improving the quality of people’s mailboxes.
