Renders are showing us a device with notch-less, 5.99′ screen and, most importantly, 6x main camera setup. Sadly, we do not know the specs of this camera. Tweet Vote on HN ...

Some iPhone apps save your screen data without your consent

According to Tech Crunch specialists, some of the apps available on the App Store take both screen pictures as well as button usage data without the knowledge of their users. The guilty apps are the ones that use analytical tools made by the Glassbox company. Those tools put special programming code into the infected app that then infects the smartphone the app is installed on; it then sends data it gathers back to the app’s publisher. Not only are these informations collected illegally, as the companies using Glassbox do not inform their users about it in the user’s agreement ...

Oh dear, oh my, Earth’s magnetic field is shifting

American scientists have discovered that there are rapid changes in the magnetic field of our planet. Reportedly, it is moving much faster than usually, going from 15 to 55 kilometers per hour in only twenty years. These changes influence devices based on a magnetic compass, like planes or smartphones – for example your compass app might not be working correctly if you are close to one of our planet’s poles. At least the changes do not influence GPS apps such as Google Maps.If it scares you, all I can say is that we, humans, have nothing to do with these changes. They are ...

Biockracking, or what in the world is that

This new term means basically hacking electronics with your own body – no, not like that. In 2017, a group of American scientists from the University of Washington have accomplished a rather sci-fi-ish task of coding a computer virus into a human DNA and then using said virus to break into a computer. They have managed to do this by (I will describe it as summarily as possible) creating a synthetic strand of DNA and manipulating it so that, when read by a computer, it would make the machine read it as a command that allows to take control over it. It is a very significant step on the ...
