Okay, not exacly death rays. Gordon Sondland, US ambassador at European Union, believes that the 5G tech can be used by Huawei and, by extension, the Chinese government to take control over devices connected to said 5G internet. This control could be used to harm people directly or indirectly; among Sondland’s examples are Huawei listening in on every phone call they so wish or taking control over the autonomous car and driving it into a wall. Abraham Liu, Huawei’s liaison to UE, respnds by saying that Sondland’s accusations by calling them ”an affront to human intelligence as well as the knowledge of technical experts worldwide. According to him, ambassador’s opinion partly shocks and partly amuses Huawei.
