The story is as follows: one Jason Colan was spending time in a fitness club excercising and listening to music, when suddenly he noticed that his right headphone started to let out thick smoke. He quickly took it out and left to find help. When he returned, he found his headphones a burnt mess of plastic and wires. Hm.

Apple already knows about this and promised to look into the how’s and why’s of it. Hopefully it was just an isolated issue.
