iPhones may become less expensive in 2018
iPhones are by no means cheap. One can argue about whether or not their price corresponds to their quality, but it simply cannot be denied that they cost a lot of money. According to Digitimes, Apple plans on increasing next year’s revenue by – colour me surprised – decreasing the price of its smartphones. Items that are to be priced lower are said to be iPhone X, 8 and 8 Plus. They will still be relatively expensive, but a 50 to 100 dollars price cut is nothing to sneeze at. Price cuts are said to take place in the USA, Taiwan and Singapur. There is no word on them taking ...
December security patch released for Samsung Galaxy A7 (2017)
Phew, finally I can write about something small and neutral… Galaxy A7 (2017) has just released its newest security patch, updating this year’s mid-ranger with latest security software and patches. Update is already out in Mexico, where it has firmware version A720FXXU2BQL9. IF you want to make sure that it is available for you too, go to Software update menu and select the Download updates manually option – but do not be surprised if you will have to wait a day or a few. ...
Samsung also does not slow down its phones like Apple does. Honest
Pretty much same case as with yesterday’s news of about Motorola and HTC doing the same thing. Samsung has released an official statement in which it promises that it is not downgrading its products’ lifetime in order to get more sales.”Product quality has been and will always be Samsung Mobile’s top priority. We ensure extended battery life of Samsung mobile devices through multi-layer safety measures, which include software algorithms that govern the battery charging current and charging duration. We do not reduce CPU performance through software updates over the ...
Apple offers large discounts on battery replacements
So, yeah, back to the Apple battery controversy. I would give you links to our posts on the topic, but you have certainly already read them and a million others. I will just get straight to the point. After a wave of criticism that hit Apple after the reveal of their malicious/well-meaning battery downgrading/saving practices (plus a growing number of lawsuits), Apple scrambles to regain its moral high ground/last shreds of decency. Company’s first move is to offer very large discounts on battery replacement for owners of iPhone 6 or newer – $29 instead of Apple’s usual ...
HTC and Motorola do not slow down their phones performance like Apple does. Pinky promise
Two of the largest Android phone producers, HTC and Motorola, have vehemently stated that they do NOT, repeat, do NOT slow down their phones’ processors when their batteries get old. Apple’s coming out (more like being made to come out) has put other manufacturers into a state of mild panick, making everyone to stand up, raise their hand and proclamate that they do not do that thing that evil Apple does, no sir, never ever. HTC and Motorola are the first large smartphone producers to do so; Samsung, Google and LG are believed to follow suit soon.Heh. Great. ...

Yaay, Samsung Note 8 has a battery issue!
SamMobile has recently compiled an increasingly growing number of online posts regarding Galaxy Note 8’s newest battery problem. The issue seems to be this: some of the Galaxy Note 8 smartphone units do not turn back on after their battery capacity was completely spent. In other words, if their power reached 0%, they do not turn back on, even after being powered back to 100%. Majority of Note 8 owners do not seem to have this issue, but the number of people who do seem to be growing. Ouchies. Naturally, Samsung will replace any faulty unit of the phone as long as it is under warranty, ...
Suits vs. Apple suits, or how makers of iPhone now face eight lawsuits
Right before Christmas an ugly piece of news concerning Apple has struck the Internet. For more details, please check out either my own little article or one of thousands of articles written about it online. Long story short, it has been proven that Apple has been, without telling anyone about it, quietly sending updates to their older smartphones that made their batteries much less efficient. As it now turns out, a number of iPhone users took particular dislike to this event, and decided to sue Apple.Yesterday, there were eight lawsuits against Apple – it is quite possible there are ...
Google will remove all the 32-bit apps from Google Play
Not right now, not right away, but soon. Google plans to get its store rid of all the 32-bit apps by 2019. Why? According to Google, it is because the 32-bit apps are too old – they would not work well in a more modern Android system that Google is preparing and they would also be more susceptible to hacker attacks. I do not know why exacly, but maybe there is something to it that I do not see.Apple has got rid of 32-bit apps three years ago, with all the Apple store fulfilling the 64-bit standard. The reason for that was Intel’s CSM main drive module that could not support the ...
