HTC may not be selling its next flagship in the US

According to Cliff Maldonado, employee of the BayStreet Research, the company lacks the resources needed to launch a high-tier smartphone in the United States. At least part of the reason as to why is, according to the man, HTC going through a restructuring process, which is a money and manpower-consuming process. Maldonado states that the Taiwanese firm will probably adopt an ODM (original design manufacturer) business model, which basically means that it will design and manufacture devices specified and/or rebranded by other companies – like they do with Google Pixel phones right now.

Well… alright? It is not as if US, or most any other place in the world, lacks for diversity in available smartphones. Do your thing, HTC, we can wait.
