Reception of the Motorola’s modular phones is mixed, but it looks like the company wants to keep its mods alive and well. A repot from CNet says that John Touvannas, director of Lenovo Moto Mods, wants to step up the pace and release twelve, if not more, Moto Mods during the 2017. This number is to include third party designs and a partnership with the crowdfunding platform Indiegogo. Personally I very much like the idea of modular phones, but I have a question – will the mods we have now be compatible with newer Motorola phones? The old Moto Mod announcement is that, quote, “Moto Mods developed today are designed to work with future generations of Moto Z phones.” This suggests that yes, they will, but we have heard such promises in the past, have we not. Well, lets hope for the best.
