Samsung Galaxy Note 7 will be cut off from the carrier - in New Zealand

Despite of the risk (not that large, it seems, because we did not get any news on exploding phones this week) of Galaxy Note 7 “malfunctioning”, many of the phone’s owners hold to their devices. This does not lie well with Samsung, which really wants everyone to send their Note 7’s back. A while ago, the company released a software update that limited Note 7’s battery capacity to 60%, but that did not help either – for example, 43% of European owners still hold on to their devices. Right now, it looks like Samsung’s fans are the cause of the company’s problem, as if defiantly standing their ground and saying “We love your phone and will not give it back. Whatcha gonna do about it? Come at me, bro”.

Well, Samsung is about to come on its faithful, and hard. According to yesteday’s press release, at November 18th Samsung will cut off New Zealand Note 7’s from their carriers, effectively rendering the phones obsolete – it will not be possible to make calls and send or receive SMS messages with them.

But do not worry, New Zealanders! Remember that you can always exchange Samsung Galaxy Note 7 for a cheaper Samsung model, and if you do, Samsung will return to you the difference in cash.
