For one reason or another, many Europeans are still using the exploding Galaxy Note 7 smartphone, even though Samsung has announced a total recall (ha ha!) of that model. Instead of twiddling its thumbs, waiting for the next news of their phone burning stubborn person’s pants, Samsung has decided to release an update that limits the Note 7’s battery charge – since the update’s release on October 31, phone’s battery will work at only 60% capacity. The goal of this action is probably twofold: first, to decrease the possibility of any more phones blowing up, and second, to dissuade Galaxy Note 7’s users from, well, using it (phone with its battery capacity so castrated must be charged daily, which, as you can imagine, is a bother to do). Will Samsung’s master plan work, or will the European bullheads keep on using a dangerous device? We shall see.
