Toshiba is readying its latest Android tablet, the Excite, for January, according to the electronics maker’s Canadian webpage. The Excite is the successor to the Thrive tablet and will offer 10 inches of touchscreen real estate to its users. The tablet will also come loaded with Google’s Android 3.2 Honeycomb operating system which is powered by a dual-core 1.2GHz processor from Texas Instruments. Other features include a 5 megapixel camera for video and photo taking as well as a 2 megapixel user facing camera for video chats. The Excite offers both built-in WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity, a micro-SD memory card slot, and a micro HDMI port. The Toshiba Excite will be offered in two variants: 16GB or 32GB. No word yet on pricing and availability.
