Niantic, creators of Pokemon Go, are continuing their unending effort of upgrading their game. New pocket monsters and game modes are well and good, but Niantic obviously feel the need to add something more to their augmented reality, namely dynamic weather conditions. The idea is that the in-game weather will change to that of a real world, naturally separate for every gamer’s region. If there is a mean blizzard outside your window, the world of Pokemon Go will be covered in snow; if it is raining, drops of virtual rain will dot the screen. Weather conditions are also supposed to influence the gameplay. For example, when it rains, it will be easier to find water pokemon, which will also be stronger than usually.
This new feature is said to come with next week’s update to the game. What do you think? Personally I think it sounds neat. While I myself do not give a cra… a thing about Pokemon Go, a program that successfully imitates local weather conditions in real time sounds like another step towards the successful virtual reality.
