Samsung’s October security update is slowly making rounds. While having one’s security updated should be a cause for contentment, it is not so for the Galaxy S8/S8+ owners. According to a growing number of people, Samsung’s October security patch causes issue with fast charging, namely preventing the device from using it at all and forcing it to use regular (as in, slow as f*ck) charging instead. Frustrating, seeing how long normal charging takes and how relatively small S8 and S8 Plus’ batteries are.
Issue does not affect everyone with October security update. Exact cause of the problem is yet unknown. Samsung has yet to comment on the issue. It can be assumed that a December patch will fix it.
