FBI wants Apple to unlock the iPhone of the Pensacola shootout suspect

Okay, perhaps ”suspect” is not the correct term. The phone in question belonged to a man responsible for shooting 3 and wounding 8 a couple weeks ago at the US Navy base. The request to unlock his phone has been sent by FBI General Counsel Dana Boente himself. Apple, though, states that it already shared ”all of the data” it possesses to the FBI.

The suspect/perpetrator is Mohammed Saeed Alshamrani, 21 years old Royal Saudi Air Force lieutenant. Alshamrani was in Pensacola to participate in their training excercises. His motivations are unknown, although a number of anti-US posts have supposedly been found on his social media accounts.
