American cellphone network Verizon is working on starting a new communication standard, one that will replace both SMS as well as Messenger and other similiar communicators. The new standard is called RCS, which stands for Rich Communication Suite. RCS will allow to send multimedia files and text that weights even 100 megabytes - much more than the currently available 200 kilobytes of an MMS, whether these files be audio or video. It will have all the usual Messenger amenities such as location recognition and text delivery confirmation. The only bad side of RCS is that it requires a working Internet connection to work.
The RCS is slowly being put to work in the United States. We do not know if and when will it arrive to other markets. It largely depends on its success in America.
