HTC U11 might receive a Bluetooth 5.0 update

HTC U11, company's most recent flagship, launched with Bluetooth 4.2 pre-installed. HTC obviously does not want things to stay this way. According to Federal Communications Commission's reports, company wants to, quote, enable Bluetooth 5.0 by software without any hardware change. If this happens, HTC will be the second company to implement Bluetooth 5.0 into its mobile phone, first one being Samsung and its S8 and S8+. Positive sides of having Bluetooth 5.0 onboard are said to include low power usage, longer connectivity range and higher transmission bandwidth.

Date of the update is currently unknown. Something tells me, though, that it will happen soon.
