Cobalt - security man (bot) of the future

”You don't need security, just install a camera”. This line of thought seems to not only prevail, but even thrive. Cameras are fine, but security business goes a step further and wants to create an inteligent robot-guardsman. Cobalt Robotics works on a device called Cobalt (duh), an autonomous robot equipped with a variety of tools that allow him to identify people, items, ID cards, audio tracks, CO2 and smoke. Upon identifying a threat, Cobalt will send an alert and... and that is it, because I don't see it coming with an electric baton to fend off a thief or fire extinguisher to put down flames. Cobalt is still in development, but who knows, maybe we're looking at the future of security right now.
