New set of augmented reality tools will soon be available for Facebook Messenger. These new toys are called â€World Effects†and they allow putting 3D objects into the frame. Tool comes with a large number of pre-existing objects, but the more interesting option may be creating your own short, 3D messages to then render on the screen.
â€World Effects†are aimed mostly towards the younger generations of Messenger users. It is probably Facebook’s goal to compete with Snapchat and its very similiar â€World Lens†feature for young people’s attention. If you ask me, both â€Worlds†are empty gimmicks good for impressionable eleven year olds, but what do I know, I am a cynical millenial.
