Apple has removed the battery percentage indicator in the status bar when it introduced iPhone X model.
However the newest update for iOS 16 beta 5 is introducing the option again.
Users will get a new percentage indicator within the battery icon which shows current charge level.
In order to use the new (old) function the user needs to go to the battery menu in the settings app and enable the battery percentage.
The new battery indicator shows the battery icon as full until it drops to 20% or below when it turns red.
