By now everyone knows what a dark mode is, so let me get straight to the point of how to install it in your app. What you must do is:

– have the updated Google Maps app,
– have Android 11,
– turn on the system-wide dark mode.

Voila, your Google Maps should now be displayed in eye-friendly black instead of the scalding white. Sadly, so far Android 11 is only available for a small number of devices, but that will change over time.
