Trains in Sydney will now NOT charge extra for payments made with phone

The Australian Commonwealth Bank has recently announced that every train, light rail or ferry passenger paying with credit card, debit card or mobile phone will have access to the same travel caps, transfer discounts and travel rewards as Opal card users. This means that non-Opal that heavily rely on public transport will now pay less, since they cannot be charged more than $16.10 – after reaching this threshold you are basically traveling for free. The change is active across the NSW transport network starting today. It will be extended over Sydney bus network ”in the coming months”.
