Kotaku has recently released a report, according to which next Black Ops game will be released a year ahead of what is usually the Black Ops’ release pattern. Normally, we see a new Black Ops game being released roughly every three years; this time though, we might get it a year early. The reasons for this change are unspecified: something about new management in Sledgehammer studio, disagreements between Sledgehammer and Raven et cetera. Kotaku also notes that it is likely that the next Black Ops COD will offer us a single player campaign, perhaps learning from their mistake of not implementing one into BO4.

Should we be concerned about decreased development time for the next game? Probably, yes. Perhaps it will turn out that Kotaku’s report is untrue, though, and BO5 will come out in 2021. Lets hope that at least the single player campaign part was true.
