British government wants to make Facebook a safer space for underage users

Some of the British ICO’s (Information Commissioner’s Office) ideas are the removal of the Like button for FB users under 18, keeping their parents updated about their FB activity history and turning off their localization by default. The legal basis for these changes are already set in the recently signed RODO agreement. Still, it is unsure whether or not Facebook has to actually give in to them. If the company does not, it may face a 20 million euro fine.
