Textalyzer will let the cops know if you were on a phone when driving

At least if you were on a phone when a road accident took place. The device is currently tested in the US state of Nevada. It is being used to check whether or not the driver/s taking part in an accident were using their phones when the unfortunate event occured. The device will be able to tell if we were talking on a phone, using Facebook or doing anything else. According to its producr, Textalyzer will not gather these information in any kind of data base: it will produce and show the results and then delete them.

At the moment, drivers in Nevada are allowed to simply refuse to allow their phones to be tested by Textalyzer. The officials there consider passing the law that allows their police officers unlimited access to people’s phones – although it might prove mighty unpopular and even illegal.
