Tumblr’s troubles begun last autumn, when the site was removed from App Store for its adult content. In attempt to save face, and maybe return to App Store too, Tumblr then decided to remove all of its adult content. Many of site’s users were irritated by this move – the worst hit were possibly adult content creators, animators etc. – and these users have prophesized that Tumblr will regret its actions. Well, it looks like it already does! According to SimilarWeb, Tumblr’s monthly user count has dropped from 521 to 437 in only one month after blocking the XXX content. This is a very large drop indeed, and one that begs a question – will Tumblr reconsider? Will adult content make a return? We shall see.
