City officials of Portland, Oregon consider blocking the 5G rollout due to possible health risks

Next Wednesday the officials of Portland will take a vote on whether or not to oppose rollout of 5G network in the city. The anti-5G sentiments in the city government are quite strong, as the anti-5G movement is headed by Mayor Ted Wheeler himself along with the Commissioners Chloe Eudaly and Amanda Fritz. Their motivation, at least officially, is a chance of 5G network causing yet to be discovered health issues. Less official reasons are suspected to be connected with both financial costs of the enterprise as well as 5G infrastructure being a so-called ”land grab” against other city facilities. The details are quite boring, but if you are somehow interested you can read about them at KATU News.
