Your freshly bought iPad Pro is bent? ”Do not worry, that is normal”

Okay, okay, we all know that mobile devices are not the most durable items out there, but come on… A large number of new iPad Pro owners have opened their boxes only to find out that their iPads are slightly bent right in the middle. This is not part of their designs – the devices are clearly bent in a way they were not supposed to be. When asked to comment on the issue, Apple released a pretty cold statement in which it said that this is normal, a reaction of the aluminium case to the device’s cooling system, and besides it is almost unnoticeable, so why do you care. Hmm. The case was soon looked in by a known YouTube stress-tester Zack Nelson. In his video he comes to the conclusion that iPad Pro’s ”bendability” is caused by a weak aluminium case as well as microphone and antennae holes placed right in the device’s middle, which leads to compromised integrity of the whole.

The so-called ”bendgate” is gaining traction. I would not be surprised if soon we will face multiple reimbursement attempts and a lot of outrage. After all, Apple is supposed to be about quality, and its product’s prices most certainly do not give any excuses for such a low quality. Then again, I am also sure that many Apple fans will defend the company and its iPad Pro to the death. Apple itself would probably prefer it if we all shut up and buy its stuff.
