It is nice to write about something positive every now and then. Motorola has entered into a partnership with iFixit. The fruits of this partnership are first in the world official, Motorola-branded tools for repairing Motorola smartphones by their owners. Every such package includes tools for interchanging displays, batteries and digitizers (digitizer is a thin layer of a special material that allows toushcreens to actually respond to touch). Every Motorola smartphone requires its own package – right now tools can be bought for Moto X, Moto Z, G4, Moto G5 i Droid Turbo 2. Their prices range from fourty to two hundred USD. Separate components for other Motorola devices are to become available soon.

I do not know about you, but I definitely like that. Motorola does something completely opposite to the shady, anti-consumer practices of Apple and its ”service only” repair procedures. Hopefully more mobile device producers will follow this example.
