Technically speaking, only people over the age of thirteen can create FB or Instagram profiles, but the thing is that nobody is really verifying their age – until now. Both services will now block profiles suspected of being owned by people younger than 13. In case of moderators being wrong, access to the profile will be returned upon showing the administration a proper identity card.

We do not know how exacly will the verification process look like. It can be assumed to take a lot of work on the moderators’ end; it will probably also significantly reduce the population of both services.
