Huawei P9 is a good, if a bit old (2016) flagship. It was a pretty popular phone that many people own to this day, which makes today’s news even worse; it is doubtful that P9 will receive any more large OS updates. Huawei manufacturer has recently took to the forums to inform that ”the P9 smartphone does not meet Google requirements for the Android 8.0 Oreo”. Ouchy. I guess we could have seen it coming – Huawei P8 has not even made it to Android 7.0. Keeping its phones up to date is, for some reason, often more than Huawei can/wants to do.

It is a bit of a comforting news that P9 will probably get the EMUI 8.0 interface, at least.
