Lenovo Z5 premiered. Lenovo promised us a lot but did not deliver

The company tried hard to make us believe that the Z5 smartphone will be The thing, the new cool kid on the block, the best thing since sliced bread. Awesome specs, kewl looks, full-panel display etc. Well, Z5’s official presentation came, and it is… just another smartphone. Nothing special. All the promises about the borderless display turned out to be lies – phone has a notch as well as a considerable ”goatee” at the bottom of the front panel. Bleh. Specifications of Z5 are also nothing spectacular:

– processor Snapdragon 636 (it was supposed to be 845), 8-core, Adreno 509 GPU,
– 6GB RAM (it was supposed to be 8), 64/128GB flash memory, microSD slot,
– 3300mAh battery,
– Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, LTE,
– 3.5 mm headphone jack, USB-C,
– fingerprint scanner,
– 16mpx + 8mpx main camera, 8mpx selfie shooter,
– 6.2′ display, 2246 x 1080p, IPS LCD.

China will be the first market to get Lenovo Z5 on June 12. Depending on the amount of flash memory it will cost between 1299 and 1799 juan. Device will be available in three colours: Black, Aurora Blue i Indigo Blue. Overall, Lenovo Z5 is a fine mid-ranger, but Lenovo promised us something more.
