HTC lied in its U11 ad and United Kingdom banned said add

The story goes as follows: HTC has been promoting its U11 smartphone in the UK since mid-2017. Its advertisement, like advertisements do, promoted and highlited phone’s main features. Ad showed British Olympic diver Tom Daley use his HTC U11 at the swimming pool, taking selfies, using phone’s squeezable sides, all the good stuff. Important detail of the ad was that Mr. Daley was using his phone as he was going out of the pool. This was when UK’s Advertising Standards Authority came in, stating that element of the ad is misleading. HTC responded by, well, tucking its tail:

”We are disappointed by the ASA ruling but have removed the video from our sites. We apologise if anyone felt misled as to the handset’s water resistant capabilities.”

To make it clear, you should ot use your HTC U11 in a swimming pool.
