Looks like political issues are starting to influence mobile business, at least in the US. Who would have thought that smartphones and real life occure in the same space, huh… Anyway, chiefs of US security services – CIA, FBI, NSA and such – are officially recommending avoiding China-produced smartphones. Exact words of the FBI Director Chris Wray are:

We are deeply concerned about the risks of allowing any company or entity that is beholden to foreign governments that don’t share our values to gain positions of power inside our telecommunications networks.

Personally I think they have a point – I doubt that the Chinese government cannot pull strings in Huawei if it wants to. Of course, the same goes for Apple. No more iPhones in China? Who knows?
