Samsung’s standard life support for smartphones is two years. Or did it use to be two years? South Korean company has just officially announced that it will update some of its 2015 devices – namely the Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S6, S6 edge and S6 edge plus – operating systems to the Android 8.0 Oreo version. While we do not know when will this update take place, it is a great piece of news in itself! One of complaints against smartphones is that they are quickly dumped in favour of new models. If older models are kept up to date with system updates, there will be less of a need to constantly move to newer and newer devices.
