Google is cleaning up Play Store, or how 60 aps got infected with adult advertisement

Check Point, a cybersecurity company, has found a so-called Adult Swine malware in a number of Google Play Store’s apps. Malware’s main function was to display adult content ads whenever the infected app was turned on. Thankfully, Google’s reaction was quick, largely thanks to the fact that many of the apps infected were aimed towards children, e.g. McQueen Car Racing Game, Addon Pixelmon or Five Nights Survival Craft. Other than showing illicit ads, malware’s job was to convince the user to download the ”antivirus” app and agree to the a premium service. Of course Google has already deleted the infected apps. Still… it might be best to not allow your small kids to download anything him/herself for now.
