So, yeah, back to the Apple battery controversy. I would give you links to our posts on the topic, but you have certainly already read them and a million others. I will just get straight to the point. After a wave of criticism that hit Apple after the reveal of their malicious/well-meaning battery downgrading/saving practices (plus a growing number of lawsuits), Apple scrambles to regain its moral high ground/last shreds of decency. Company’s first move is to offer very large discounts on battery replacement for owners of iPhone 6 or newer – $29 instead of Apple’s usual $80. It is also possible that Apple will make their batteries removable so that iPhone owners can replace them themselves; it is also possible that future iOS updates will provide us with more information about the phone battery’s health. The offer is in place from the end of January to the end of year 2018.
