Nokia research shows that iPhones are the safest, malware-wise, phones of all

Nokia has just completed a research that sums up what pretty much everyone already knew, namely that Apple smartphones are among the least susceptible to malware attacks. According to the diagram above – as well as experience of millions of smartphone users over the years – Android phones are most likely to be attacked by a computer virus. On second place of cyber security are Windows phones (Galaxy Pixel 2 etc), while third place is being taken by, quote, Other Phones, iOS devices among them. According to Nokia’s research, grand majority of mobile malware is created specifically to affect Android devices.

This does not neccessarily mean that Android phones are the deepest pits of hell, while iPhones are safe haven amidst the carnage. Android’s susceptibility is in large part thanks to the OS’ popularity; there are many, many more Android devices than there are Apple phones around, so, naturally, majority of hackers create their malware with Android in mind. As for Windows phones… well, Microsoft was never considered a paragon of cyber security to begin with. Long story short, there are more viruses on Android phones than on iPhones largely because there are many more Android phones around.

Think about that, Apple fans, before you suggest your friends should all buy iPhones ;).
