Long story short, yes, another smartphone blew up. This time the whole scene is caught on tape, too. Recording depicts a man holding his phone in a pocket on his chest. Phone suddenly blows up, putting the man’s shirt on fire. He drops on the floor and soon manages to drag the burning cloth off himself. Situation seems to be under control, although the victim can be seen holding his face in a hurt manner, though we do not know whether or not was he actually hurt (was he hit by the fragments of the phone? Burned?) or was he doing it just from shock. I hope it was nothing serious.

According to Channel NewsAsia, the phone model in question is Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos, Samsung’s old model back from 2013. Samsung’s official opinion is that the phone has been equipped with a battery from an authorized manufacturer. Company has released in a statement in which it urges its clients to only use batteries from either Samsung or authorized suppliers.
