Tweeter will soon begin a, quote, ”small public test” to see what happens when some of its users are allowed to post tweets 280 letters long. Twitter has a few official explanations for this, but they all boil down to, basically, ”many people want to type in more”. It may also be Twitter’s attempt to draw in more users; Twitter is very popular (328 million users per month), but still has a way to go if it wants to beat Instagram (800 million) or, hah, Facebook (two billion, good luck with that).
What do you think? Will longer tweets serve Twitter well or will they turn out to be a needless addition?
